#HDCONNECT Retreat - Over 18 Years Old

Application Information - Open
In order to attend, you must apply to these applications no later than July 20th. Our committee will review applications and send invitations out in early August. It’s up to HDYO's discretion to find the right fit for the dynamics and success of the entire group.
Who can apply? * Young people ages 18-30 who are impacted by Huntington's disease who live in the United States. That includes those individuals who are at-risk, gene positive, gene negative, caregivers and loved ones.
Application Process:
Applications can be submitted until July 20, 2025.
Applications will be reviewed by the retreat team at the end of July.
If there are more applicants than places, we will prioritize those young people who may not have a lot of support in their local community.
Notifications of application acceptance will go out the first week of August.
Applicants will have one week to accept their spot at camp or it will go to another applicant.
What is the Cost?
HDYO will cover the following costs:
- Flight up to $500 per participant (flight up to $500 for guardian if participant is under 18)
- Hotel room for Thursday, September 4-Sunday, September 7
- Meals
- Friday, September 5: Lunch and Dinner (in conjunction with the Help4HD opening reception)
- Saturday, September 6: Meals in accordance with the Help4HD Symposium
Any additional costs will be the responsibility of the participant including transportation, meals during transit, baggage fees, etc.
Frequently Asked Questions:
How many spaces are available? There is the capacity for about 30 young people to attend #HDYOCONNECT.
How will I/my child get to the retreat? If you are selected to attend, we will arrange travel for you. If you are within driving distance, we will work with you and your family to arrange travel.
Who is running the camp? There will be an experienced staff team from HDYO and HD professionals from around the country, and a trained and trusted group of young adult volunteers from the HD community form the volunteer support team.
Insurance: All participants are REQUIRED to have medical insurance. You should check your policy for travel coverage. All families will be required to sign a release alleviating HDYO of responsibility in the case of an accident or injury.
